Why businesses choose Zero Tech Waste for IT recycling
There are plenty of IT recycling companies in the UK. Most will collect your old equipment, issue a certificate, and move on. We do things differently: find out how.
Free collections when you recycle at least 10 laptops, PCs & servers (any combination). It’s also free to recycle almost all waste IT with us.
Sustainable IT recycling for UK business
We provide a secure, ethical, and sustainable IT recycling service to UK businesses. We bring a wealth of expertise from our decade in the data destruction and IT recycling sector, and a bold commitment to secure, Reuse Refurbish Recycle practices.
Advocates of the Reuse Refurbish Recycle approach
We recycle 100% of your IT assets. No waste is exported outside of the UK, we’re leaders in the drive for a circular economy.
Fully accredited & CRB/DBS checked
We follow strict GDPR & WEEE regulation practices, and we only employ vetted, security-cleared personnel to manage your IT recycling – including carrying out the secure destruction of any sensitive data.
Free nationwide collections
Typically, we can retrieve the collection within 24 to 72 hours of the initial enquiry. Our fleet is equipped with full tracking capabilities, ensuring a thorough and audited solution.
We’re carbon negative
For every kilo of CO2 our operations produce, we offset two making us one of the most sustainable suppliers in the market.
A reuse-first approach
Before any device we collect is broken down for materials recovery, it is assessed for refurbishment potential. Reuse is always the better environmental outcome. A laptop that goes back into active use avoids the energy, water, and raw materials required to manufacture a replacement. Scrapping is the last resort, not the default.
This is not a marketing position. It is the operational principle that every collection decision is based on. See our sustainability page for more on how we approach environmental outcomes.
How do we keep your data secure?
All of our personnel are security cleared. Our fleet is GPS tracked from the moment we collect your equipment to the moment it reaches our UK facility. We carry out NCSC-approved data destruction and provide Certificates of Destruction for every consignment or individual data-bearing device.
We are ICO registered (ZB782110) and fully insured, with employers’ liability, public liability, products liability, and professional liability cover in place. See our accreditations page for full details.
Why does UK-only processing matter?
Everything we collect is processed within the UK. We do not export waste. That means shorter supply chains, full accountability at every stage, and no contribution to the global e-waste problem that characterises much of the industry.
Free collection for qualifying volumes
Collection is free when you have at least 10 qualifying devices for example laptops, PCs, or servers. We typically collect within 24 to 72 hours of enquiry, nationwide. No waiting weeks for a slot, we can also adjust your consignment if you want to recycle more devices at short notice on the day.
Why are we campaigning for circular economy policy?
Most IT recycling companies process waste and move on. We think the industry itself needs to change, and we are doing something about it.
We are active members of the All-Party Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group, a cross-party group of MPs and peers working to advance the UK’s circular economy through policy and legislation. Our involvement means we are part of the conversations shaping how electronic waste is regulated, reported, and reduced at a national level – not just complying with the rules as they stand, but pushing for the rules to improve.
The issues we care about are straightforward: too much e-waste still gets exported, too little equipment gets a second life, and too many businesses are not given clear enough guidance on what responsible disposal actually requires. We want the UK to lead rather than follow on circular economy legislation – so we are helping drive the change.
Trusted by UK businesses across regulated sectors
We work with organisations in healthcare, education, finance, legal, and managed services – sectors where data security and compliance are non-negotiable. Our clients choose us because we take those responsibilities as seriously as they do.
“I often get asked where we can send old tech to be recycled with the peace of mind that our data will be removed. We used Zero Tech Waste and were really impressed with the team. We had a quick convenient collection and have already received our certificate of destruction along with our carbon offset document.”
Lee Dugdale-Shutts, 1-Fix, Managed Service Provider
“Lauren was really helpful and very responsive, it made the process really easy and quick. Our collection driver, was also very friendly and made the collection easy and simple. Would definitely recommend this service to others!”
Gabrielle Gardiner, Malvern International, Education Sector
As part of consolidating our multiple sites, we had a large volume of unwanted and obsolete IT equipment, including servers, laptops, desktops, printers and monitors. We chose Zero Tech Waste because they were flexible in collecting all of our IT assets — something other companies were not able to offer — and they could move quickly, which was important as we were keen to empty our premises.
The team securely collected everything, permanently deleted all data free of charge, and ensured 100% of the equipment was recycled responsibly. On completion, we received a Carbon Offset Certificate, providing clear evidence of the environmental benefits. The service was both efficient and professional.
Emma Louge, Tempura Communications
We had a really positive experience with Zero Tech Waste. Booking was easy, and communication both over the phone and by email, was extremely prompt and clear.
James arrived at the agreed time to our office to collect a large number of PC monitors, cables, and other electrical equipment that had accumulated over more than ten years. He was very considerate, especially as we had meetings taking place at the time, and he worked efficiently while keeping any disruption to a minimum.
I’ve already booked another collection for our AV equipment. The prices are very reasonable, and I’ll definitely be keeping Zero Tech Waste’s contact details in my address book for future collections.
