FAQs about Zero Post
What is the Zero Post service?

If you have any unwanted or old electrical or IT equipment, you can send it to us and we’ll recycle it for free. We’ll even pay the shipping costs. Just fill out our collection form and box up the equipment. Once we have been in touch to arrange a preferred day for collection – we’ll send a trusted courier to collect the box(es).

When delivered to our secure facility, we recycle the equipment, send you a waste transfer note and certificate of data destruction, all free of charge. You are also welcome to drop off the box at your local post office, using the same label.

Is Zero Post really free?

Yes, in most cases it is completely free to recycle your old IT assets with Zero Post, but we do charge for certain items (you can check the list of chargeable items here). We may also charge if there isn’t very much equipment to be recycled — typically we look for 10 or more qualifying items. If you’re unsure what’s chargeable or qualifying, send us an email contact@zerotechwaste.com or call us on 0800 494 7778.

What is the maximum weight of a box for Zero Post?

The maximum weight per box is 30kg – if you think your equipment weighs more than this, we can arrange for extra labels. We can also arrange a collection of pallet(s).

Do you offer enhanced data destruction with Zero Post?

We do, and it’s just £5 (ex.VAT) per item.

For organisations requiring end-to-end asset tracking, we offer an enhanced service that includes a full audit trail and a Enhanced Certificate of Destruction for each individual device/disk. If you choose the enhanced data destruction service, for end-to-end asset tracking, there is a charge of £5 (ex. VAT) per disk/drive. You will receive an enhanced certificate detailing a full audit trail as the equipment is recycled and the data is destroyed.

We guarantee 100% destruction of your sensitive data, for everything we collect.

Our standard data deletion service, which is free of charge, provides a certificate of destruction confirming all data and/or media has been destroyed.

We offer an optional end-to-end asset tracking service, which includes a full audit trail and/or an Enhanced Certificate of Destruction for individual items, there is a £5 (ex-vat) fee per item. You will receive an Enhanced Certificate, detailing a full audit trail as the equipment is recycled and the data is destroyed.
